About

Sylvie Geißler is a passionate trail and ultrarunner from Germany. Her running career started relatively late – she only discovered trail running at the age of 32. However, her fascination with running in the mountains developed quickly. The preparation for the Fisherman’s Strongman with 700 meters of elevation gain was her first major source of motivation – from then on, she kept going further and higher. Multi-day trail running trips became the norm, and after the birth of her daughter in 2023, she started structured training and began competing in races. Together with her family, Sylvie loves exploring the mountains and embracing every challenge that nature has to offer.

For Sylvie, trail running is a unique sport full of versatility, individuality, and freedom. She appreciates the endless possibilities – from short, intense runs to technically demanding or runnable trails. What she finds particularly fascinating is the feeling of being out in the mountains for days with minimal gear or conquering an alpine route in a single day. She also values the trail running community, which gives her a strong sense of belonging.

For the future, Sylvie hopes that trail running will continue to grow in significance so that more athletes – whether professionals, semi-professionals, or amateurs – can make a living from it.

Her biggest dream? To compete in a stage race with her daughter Elfi in 16 years.

"Standing on the summit gives me the feeling of being 'dahoam' (at home)."

Whether in training, competition, or during relaxed enjoyment runs – the summit is a place of arrival, security, and happiness for Sylvie. The strength she gains there allows her to embrace life and all its challenges to the fullest.
