Matija is a passionate alpinist and IFMGA mountain guide from Mojstrana, Slovenia, a town at the foot of the Triglav North Face. Growing up in an alpine-oriented family, he started competing in sport climbing at the age of six, later switching to alpine and trad climbing at 18. Matija is a passionate alpinist and IFMGA mountain guide from Mojstrana, Slovenia, a town at the foot of the Triglav North Face. Growing up in an alpine-oriented family, he started competing in sport climbing at the age of six, later switching to alpine and trad climbing at 18.

After 12 years of competitive climbing, he shifted his focus to mountaineering and spent years exploring alpine routes around the world. In 2023, he became an IFMGA mountain guide, turning his love of the mountains into a profession. Alongside his mountain pursuits, Matija completed a Master's degree in Computer Science and now expertly balances training, guiding, climbing and family life.

He is driven by a deep love of the mountains, an appreciation of alpinism and a personal commitment to pushing his limits. His greatest dream? To find peace in not always going to the limit. Guided by the saying "proper preparation prevents piss poor performance", Matija continues to strive for excellence in both his professional and personal life.
