About

Hans Rey was born in Germany in 1966, this Swiss/American national now resides in Laguna Beach, California and part-time in the UK with his wife Carmen. Hans is a former Trials World Champion and inductee of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, he is widely considered to be a pioneer of both the Mountain Bike Freeride movement and the Trials riding scene. As a professional rider and ambassador for the sport he had a huge influence on generations of riders; he continues to travel the world having so far visited seventy different countries - inspiring people to ride and live their dreams.

Hans has embodied the spirt of adventure long before it became popular, the Hans Rey Adventure Team explores extreme locations around the globe, often riding a bike where a bicycle had never been ridden before. Hans would seek out locations that were both historic and mystery, introducing his audience to incredible riding spots and cultures always capturing his exploits for the media.

Recently he’s been taking on his ‘Urban Adventure’ series in some of the biggest cities in the world. He’s been a long time advocate for e-bikes and has unique long lasting partnerships with his sponsors. In 2005 Hans started a non-profit charity called Wheels 4 Life, giving bicycles to people in need of transportation in developing countries.

In 2016 Hans climbed and rode Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimanjaro back to back.
